Food is decent but nothing exciting. Portions are small. Always disappointing to see these "tavern-like" places that give you extremely large plates with just some food in it.
Cherry on top, the owner was very thoughtful on charging us about 15€ more than the corret price only because of one of us being a foreigner and us being clearly just passing by the city. Needless to say, very unlikely to visit a second time, even if I'll ever find myself in Piacenza again.
Consider other places.
Such a wonderful place. People are very warm and welcoming with tourists and locals alike. The menu IS ALL interesting. Donkey, horse, liver. Just wow
They also have the choice to serve wine in traditional cups that are like soup bowls (they informed us about that) amazing experience. The interior is very nice but try to get a place at the small outdoor part. Highly recommend. I think it is a true representation of the famous cooking of Piacenza!
My favorite plate was liver with onions and apple SO tender !!!
Outstanding homemade food in a congenial environment. Friendly owners and helpful with their suggestions about daily specials. If you are seeking good value for your money and a tourist-free environment with excellent food, this is the place for lunch or for dinner in Piacenza.
